I've been thinking about it, and i think that probably you too.
When will be a game about Blame universe?
Maybe an RPG wold be cool, and if it is on-line that would be wonderfull.
I have created this topic because i don't know. And i wanna know your opinions. About if you will buy it, and about what kind of game you prefeer.
(I don`t have any idea if there is a game, or even if Nihei is thinking about it)

i'd prefer a first person mmorpg... but i wonder how a gbe-gun with its massive destructive power could be implemented into this...
imagine, you're walking around like in the good old quake 1 days bashing monsters, then you pull out your gbe, blast a huge hole through the megastructure and instantly constructors crawl around fixing the hole.... spooky

Yeah, i know that blame is not very popular, but if there will be a game, i think that people will play it, because the universe of blame has a lot of posibilities.
Hope that some day this dream could become true.

And as Nihei said he'd like to work as a game designer, it would be great (and I was totally when I read (when the anime came out) that he didn't wanted to work on anime... Damn, seeing a story of mine turn into an naime would the greatest thing that could happen (though I'm kinda lazy and more into the 3D stuff than drawing and story for now)
Sure a video game is great, but an anime (if it's very well done) gives a lot more life to the characters than a manga. It put in motion everything you've imagined...
But a game could be really great, if it's well done, I'd buy it for sure.
It would just require a bit more life than the Blame! universe, walking alone wouldn't be that great, and some evolution would be good, each player could become an government agent if he's got enough XP.

Nihei play a lot with his X-Box, with game like that Halo (its a first-person shootemup). But make a game has a lot of difficult...like a movie...

Game level design tool ?
Is it specialised in a certain type of game ?
Cuz' all I've seen are editor integrated to the game, one with half-life, one with warcraft, etc etc.
Cuz' some years ago I tried the half-life level editor, and if I'm in 3D environment like a fish in the sea (lol, what a poor comparision ), it was really messy, couldn't find any tutorial on the net. Or maybe I wasn't that experienced at that time .
All I came up with was a room full of gargantua, and the player on top of them. You just had to throw a lot of grenades and watch pieces of gargantuas flying around
But I find that kinda not rewarding, learning a whole editor just to create a game map, you really have to go deep into the various fonctions to do something good (though the Quake 3 map numbered 17 is still the best map I've ever played, and it's not that complicated, just really well conceived), I prefer to learn a full software that may be useful for work (well, when I'll have some... ) than a game editor.
In another genre, a friend recently shew me something called "rpg game creator" or something like that. Quite basic, but it looks good to create famicom's FF-like games (but once again, it's a really tough work, you've got to create the 16*16 pixels sprite for each guy etc etc. :? )
Just to let you know, or maybe you heard of this guy too. On a french comic board, an english guy came and explained he wanted to create a BLAME! mod for the upcoming Half-Life 2. Well I know there's a lot of guys on the net who write in board "hey I'm looking for graphists, I'm gonna do the best game on earth" etc etc and they don't know how though doing a game, or even a game mod really is, but this guy looked more serious in his message, but after 2 posts, we never heard of him again.
Have you heard of him ? Maybe he's here ?
This may have been a good idea (though as Heeen pointed out, I really wondered how to do the BGE into the game^^), and some mods are really great, but no news at all.

I once posted in the HI forum that I was very interested in making a BLAME! game. I still am, and I'm pretty capable at programming and 3D modelling, but I don't have the free time required to make such a thing.
The exterminator model in my avatar is my own creation. It's not the best BLAME! model I've seen, but it's pretty good for programmer art, in my opinion. Still, that's about the only concrete thing I've done for the game, so like I said in HI, I'll keep quiet until I manage to make something really worth showing to you guys; and honestly, that could take years.
PS: I'm not that french guy, HI means Heavy Industries.
Oh, and the game I'm designing is not an online RPG... it isn't much of an RPG of any kind actually.

Hi to all, i am a fan of Tsutomu Nihei from singapore, the idea of BLAME! becoming a game had been going on in my mind before also. Many BLAME! fans like me, i guess, will really like to virtually experience the adventure, killy took on. If BLAME!/NOISE do become a game, i hope it`s a muitiplayer online rpg game. But the 'landscape' of the game i guess will be (let me see how to describe it...erm..)rather huge, enormous, giantantic....I think the producer of the game will have to constantly updating the megastructure so that players will have more cyber terrain to explore. I 'dream' that the game will be a bit like a cyber version of Lineage2 or FinalFantasyXI. But this 'dream' blame! online rpg might be rather difficult to be produce, unless BLAME! become super popular like LordOfTheRings. So let jus hope 1 day, the game could really be produced. And maybe we guys/gals could form a clan/guild =p
All i can say is.....maybe not now but maybe in the future.
Let us just hope......

haha I was thinking exactly along the lines of Lineage2, graphic design for games is really just getting to the point where you could make an mmorpg game of Blame! and it would look amazing. Maybe you wouldnt be able to have a GBE but would be a sort of human on some quest...some could choose silicon life or something like that...would be pvp (player vs player) as well as pve (player vs environment) capture the terminal net gene or something well as smaller quests that are impletmented. Very interesting idea. If the game was made well...and people saw it Im sure a lot of people would be into it to play even if they hadnt read Blame!.

ragnarok?!!...... if future Blame! game is gonna look like ragnarok, it going to be yucks~! horrible (cute little version of cibo and killy!?, but then a again not offense to ragnarok fans...), i would rather blame! to be "AT LEAST" like muonline. But if it`s going to be like lineage2(using unreal tourament game graphic) the game is going to be great. Maybe the game will hav a more complex interface, coz as we all know, blame! characters are all equip with lots of gadgets and implants, able to control those 'items' will make the game more interesting and realistic.
