Yeah, I also got mine from demonoid. Quite a good source for manga and comics and many nice people there. The whole graphic novel is incredibly well done although I seriously wish Nihei's contribution wouldn't have been that short. It's also pretty interesting to see how serious both Bungie and Microsoft are about the whole Halo franchise.
So all in all, Nihei's story is short but beautiful and although I love his black and white work it amazes me to see how much depth all these colours are adding to his visions.
Even if you're not familiar with Halo it's defiitely worth it.

Thank ye kindly. A thousand internets to ye.
Nihei's piece was alright, but not exceptional. I think he works better in black-and-white than in colour. Too bad Geoff Darrow didn't get to do a section, his style would have been excellent for all the techno-junk in Halo. And Simon Bisley, man he just went ape-shit for the Flood, didn't he?
I particularly liked Rick Berry's and Scott Fischer's paintings.

the Halo Graphic Novel scans recently found their home on my HD, so I'll share my opinion about it with you
Tsutomu Nihei's contribution is pretty awesome. I recently started playing HALO for the second time, and the moment i reached the first flood apperance I also downloaded HGN. Nihei perfectly grabbed the atmosphere of those flood filled corridors and rooms. I could easilly feel sgt. Johnson feelings, I too feel them, like, 30 minutes before I started read the "Breaking Quarantine".
I also like the "Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor". It's good to add more character to the elites and flood tjat die by my gun in the game

I got the book now and checked out Nihei's part.
To be honest, I didn't like the style of his artworks here: IMO he shouldn't focus too much on doing digitally colored comic styled art. His black and white manga art is SOO much more better. In fact, I thought, some shots were pretty weak on body language/anatomy and color choice as well as composition.
Sure, I don't know about time constraints and other circumstances etc., but I think his work for the graphic novel is some of his weakest... The plot could have been a little more creative as well.
Jeez, hope you don't get a wrong impression of all my negative talk. Nihei is still at the very top of my list of favourite manga artists ever!
Whoa, I would have died, if Craig Mullins had done a full story part...that would have been insane! O_O

Haha, thx for the support Shakken!
Actually, I am not a halo hater, but I am not a fan either. I have never played the game, I only got interested a bit through the wicked artwork by Craig Mullins which he did for the series!
Sent you a pm!
