What do you lot think about the Biomega Cityscapes ?
Its really a mixture of everything, old and new, isnt it ?
Asian pagoda buildings, fairytale-like "medieval" architecture (Yion Green´s "castle"), Tokyo"-superhighways, futuristic megastructures, Bladerunner-esque industrial fields, escher-like mazes and stairs, the giant tubes that lie around like worms and some sort of decay everywhere.
But it all blends perfectly into the story - you never question anything, its a natural part of the story...

That's a fucking LOT of pictures
But well I also like them, they show that a city grows and that there are new buildings, but also old ones around and that they fit in. But sometimes it's a little to mixed up for my taste...
But it's not like some other mangas/animes where there is everything all new, shiny and boring...

I think there were quite a lot of Stylesets Nihei use for spezific Locations and that his Style change a lot. Look back at the first 3 Vol. of BLAME! its very clean and Hard in the lines, Than it gets sketchy with the Toha plot and than about the last 2 vol its became more surreal.
In the Abara storyark its looks like an Urban sociey on a dessert world.
Finally at Biomega, where the example pictures come from. Its very interesting to see the difference in the Outerworld of the Cable and the Earthworld.
